And to all the staff, partners, artists, and suppliers who participated in this project!
As the largest New Year's Eve countdown event in Central Vietnam at the time, “I Love Da Nang - Countdown Party 2014” was developed by Brother IMC & Dream Studio as a large-scale community festival for tens of thousands of residents and tourists, marking one of the first efforts to establish the international countdown model as a signature cultural and tourism product for the city of Da Nang.
The project's standout feature was the stage system, custom-designed for the 29/3 Square. Moving away from a traditional symmetrical layout, the stage was developed as a dynamic architectural structure spanning nearly 50 meters, with scaffolding reaching the height of a 12-story building and multiple layers of LED screens arranged at varying elevations. This created a visual depth rarely seen in outdoor events in Vietnam at that time. Notably, Dream Studio pioneered the use of LED screens mounted on sliding tracks, combined with curved LED pillars, multi-layered LED mesh, and a mobile LED-integrated DJ booth. This allowed the entire stage structure to continuously transform with each performance, rather than serving merely as a static backdrop.
Complementing the scale of the stage was a lineup of top-tier artists including Thu Minh, Tuan Hung, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Van Mai Huong, Phuong Vy, and Kasim Hoang Vu, supported by a sound, laser, and multimedia system programmed to synchronize with every emotional beat. As tens of thousands of spectators counted down in unison and fireworks lit up the sky to welcome the New Year, the entire square became a resonant space where art, technology, and community merged into one.
Broadcast live on VTV3 and VTV Da Nang, the program demanded high-level synchronization between the live experience and the television broadcast. The entire visual, lighting, and sound system, along with the show's pacing, was coordinated by Dream Studio to live broadcast standards, ensuring that the energy was conveyed seamlessly to both the audience at the square and millions of viewers watching from home.
I Love Da Nang - Countdown Party 2014 stands as a pioneering project that laid the foundation for the modern countdown festival model in Vietnam. By integrating performance art, stage technology, and community experience into a single creative framework, the program helped redefine the countdown not just as a New Year's concert, but as a cultural and tourism product capable of shaping the city's identity and becoming an annual destination for the public.
