Organized simultaneously in Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Da Nang, Saigon Beer’s Special Countdown Party 2016 reaffirmed its position as one of the largest scale New Year countdown festival series in Vietnam at that time. The program was developed as a grand banquet of music, technology, and visual art, bringing a completely new countdown experience to tens of thousands of audiences.
Instead of just building a performance stage, Dream Studio chose to transform the event space into a multimedia performance work. The outstanding highlight was the pioneering application of large-scale 3D projection mapping technology to recreate 3D spatial blocks using light, combined with an LED system, lasers, and modern stage effects. Technology no longer played an illustrative role but became a part of the storytelling language, continuously transforming with every music and emotional layer of the program.
A special mark of Countdown 2016 was the appearance of Angerfist, the famous Dutch Hardcore DJ. This was the first time he performed in Vietnam, and also the first time domestic audiences were introduced to a strong EDM style, different from the popular electronic music genres at that time. The combination of international artists, Vietnamese stars, and a technological performance system created a festival atmosphere with a scale and standard approaching international music festivals.
For Dream Studio, Saigon Beer’s Special Countdown Party 2016 was not only a New Year countdown event but also a testament to the ability to combine performance art and stage technology. Through 3D Mapping, music, and spatial experience, the program transformed the New Year transition moment into a visual, emotional, and memorable experience for tens of thousands of audiences.
