ABOUT

Following the success of the previous season, Dream Studio continued its collaboration with Vietnam Television (VTV) to produce the International Children’s Festival 2019. The festival brought together children from Vietnam and around the world, creating opportunities for cultural exchange, exploration of Vietnam’s traditional heritage, and appreciation of the diversity of global cultures.

As a key highlight of the festival, the stage for the Gala “Colors of Cultures” was designed by Dream Studio as a spectacular world of light, connecting the Hill of Wishes and the Light Square at Vinpearl Land Nam Hoi An. The production featured a large-scale LED system, advanced sound and lighting technology, and immersive 3D mapping effects, enhancing the visual experience for both live and television audiences. By combining performance technology with traditional cultural elements, the gala created a vibrant international exchange platform where children became both performers and participants in a shared journey of cultural discovery.

One of the most remarkable moments of the evening was a long-distance sliding LED screen system, a modern and rare technical feat at the time due to the complexity of its motion structure, alongside the large-scale river carnival performance titled “East Meets West on the Hoi River”. The spectacle featured 120 young performers from various countries appearing aboard two crane-shaped boats and 20 traditional Hoi An boats. More than 2,000 floating lanterns illuminated the river, transforming it into a breathtaking stage of color and light. The segment required four consecutive days of rehearsals and staging prior to the live broadcast to ensure the highest production quality. Through the symbolism of the artistic river journey, the performance celebrated cultural exchange, connection, and the preservation of traditional values.

The Gala “Colors of Cultures”, presented as part of the International Children’s Festival 2019, was a special gift from Dream Studio and Vietnam Television (VTV) to children, encouraging them to appreciate the cultural heritage of Vietnam while exploring the richness and diversity of cultures from around the world. For Dream Studio, the project was another opportunity to expand the expertise in creating large-scale cultural and live entertainment productions, while demonstrating how performing arts can serve as a meaningful bridge between communities, cultures, and generations.
