VINID | DAI HY XUAN

For Dream Studio, VINID | Dai Hy Xuan was not merely a New Year celebration event, but a pioneering project that redefined the standards of mass event production in Vietnam in 2017. From investment scale and staging mindset to audience experience, the program opened up a new approach for large-scale music events, becoming one of the foundational milestones for the development of super concerts in Vietnam later on.

Developed with Vingroup as a grand music festival for the nationwide VinID customer community, the program was a combination of stage technology, performance art, and mass audience experience on a scale unprecedented at that time.

Inspired by the festival spirit and the aspiration to connect millions of customers in the Vingroup ecosystem, the entire program was conceptualized as a large-scale outdoor art banquet. The stadium space was transformed into a giant performance stage, where music, technology, and community experience coexisted in a unified structure.

The outstanding highlight of the project lay in the stage system, developed on a scale never before appeared in Vietnam at that time. With a length of over 130 meters, a height of up to 31 meters, and an LED screen area of about 1,350 square meters, the stage completely occupied one horizontal grandstand of My Dinh National Stadium with a capacity of 40,000 people. The technical system, including thousands of lighting, effects, and multimedia devices, was operated synchronously to create a performance environment meeting international standards. 

In terms of the quantity of equipment used, VINID | Dai Hy Xuan was among the top 5 largest programs in Asia in 2017. Unlike the conventional music performance model, Dream Studio developed the program in a continuous structure, where performances were connected by visual language and large-scale stage scenes. The custom-designed giant props also became an important part of the theatrical language, notably two special props including a lottery spinning cage and a cassette player weighing up to nearly 1 ton. 

Besides the performance scale, the project set special requirements for stage structure and technical infrastructure. The stage system was developed with a dynamic load-bearing structure capable of operating complex mechanical scenes and bearing a weight equivalent to 50 four- seater Toyota Camry cars moving simultaneously on the stage surface. Each mechanical component was engineered specifically for single-use reveal moments, contributing to creating a strong visual effect and an overwhelming feeling for the entire grand scene.

One of the biggest challenges of the project was synchronizing the technical scale with the number of the cast. Certain performances featured up to 400 performers, creating massive stage pictures rarely seen in commercial entertainment programs in Vietnam. The scale of the stage and the technical and effect categories of the event remains a benchmark that very few programs can reach even up to the present time.

The program gathered 18 top Vietnamese artists on the same stage, creating a music journey diverse in styles and audience generations. Combining multiple artists in the same program structure required an operation, coordination, and technical system organized at a high level of precision to ensure the continuity of the experience. This was indeed one of the projects marking a significant development step of the Vietnamese entertainment industry in approaching production standards on an international scale.

For Dream Studio, VINID | Dai Hy Xuan was not just an entertainment program; it was a milestone regarding the capacity to organize and produce large scale events in Vietnam. At the same time, Dream Studio continues to pursue transforming commercial events into widely spreading pop-culture experiences, where technology, art, and community emotions together create sustainable marks over time.
